There are some anime characters that become so popular, such as Rei Ayanami, Kanu Unchou and Haruhi Suzumiya, that they just keep churning our figures and they usually keep releasing them for years. Gurren Legann’s Yoko is one of these characters to add to the list. Over the last twelve months the volume of figures that have been released of this red haired, zipper-booted, sniper is quit extraordinary. This new Gathering statue certainly stands out from the crowd.
This beautiful resin statue of Yoko has been individually hand painted to incredibly high standards, the shading and highlighting is stunning with very realistically toned skin. Unlike many other figures of Yoko this figure is entirely dedicated to capturing her beauty and what a fantastic result it is. Her face captures a strong woman with a lot on her mind, her expression seems almost dreamy and distant, her eye’s looking not at what’s in front but whatever thoughts she may be pondering. Her perfect lips, with a slight sheen, softy and gentle.
Yoko’s entire form has been captured perfectly as she stands, leaning slightly, sniper rifle resting behind her. This statue is certainly worthy of any display. The sculpting really is masterful and cannot be done justice in any photo. Measures 28.5cm tall and includes a display base.
This figure will be available at Eye on Asia very soon in limited quantities and certainly should not be missed.
